Craig & Company, successor firm of Lichten Craig, is an award-winning architecture and interior design firm with offices in Chicago and New York. With wide and varied experience, we primarily engage in custom residential, institutional, and hospitality commissions. Project Architect/Designer

Candidate will collaborate with the Director of Architecture to develop and manage projects from the beginning of design through the completion of construction. Ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with members of both the architecture and interior design teams to bring creativity, critical thinking, and quality execution to their projects. Ability to work efficiently and effectively within the project schedule and fee parameters is essential. Applicants must be flexible in taking on various projects and roles as part of a versatile and dedicated team. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office is required, SketchUp preferred.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture
• Strong design aptitude and curiosity for design solutions –Detail oriented
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Self-motivation and perseverance
• Positive, energetic team player
• Strong written, verbal, and graphic skills
• AutoCAD fluency
• Minimum 3 years of experience in architectural design

Junior Designer

This position involves all aspects of interior design from concept development through installation and will have the opportunity for growth in a fun and fast-paced studio atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of full-time, high-end residential or hospitality experience.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

• Collaborate with the Business Manager and senior staff on creating and maintaining project budgets.
• Project design development, including furniture plans, lighting, and paint schedules; product selection and specifications.
• Communicate intent effectively, both through written documentation and drawings, including drawings for client presentations.
• Provide drawings and specifications for custom-built furniture and complete quality inspections at vendors.
• Shop for clients and develop relationships with new vendors and resources.
• Provide order follow-up and expediting, including communicating order status, issues, alternatives, and solutions, and take a proactive approach to resolve conflicts.
• Comprehensive installation preparation, including pre-inventory control, scheduling vendors, providing day-of installation support, prepping installation supplies, etc.
• Manage multiple projects at the same time.
• Resource concepts, materials, and inspiration.
• Attend industry events on behalf of the firm.

Interior Design Intern

The position will assist the design team with duties ranging from presentations, marketing initiatives, and social media to order expediting, library management, and logistical support, with room for growth in a fun and fast-paced studio atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have strong graphic and communication skills to convey intent, plans, status, and issues, and provide alternatives and solutions. Skills and qualities should include a positive, hyper-organized, and self-motivated approach; a strong sense of urgency and follow-through; comfort in working independently on specified projects; ability to multi-task; MS office skills; photoshop; InDesign, and AutoCAD a must.
